Floods of Sodomy

Updated: Mar 25, 2019

Reading through some of this weeks news stories I came across this article in the Sunday Telegraph:

Floods are judgment on society, say bishops

The floods that have devastated swathes of the country are God's judgment on the immorality and greed of modern society, according to senior Church of England bishops.

One diocesan bishop has even claimed that laws that have undermined marriage, including the introduction of pro-gay legislation, have provoked God to act by sending the storms that have left thousands of people homeless. Full article here

Now clearly my lifestyle and evil acts of sodomy during the weekend directly resulted in me being stranded in Sheffield on monday, wading through waist deep water and being unable to get home.

For all of the people affected by this I would like to apologise for the death, destruction and general inconvenience caused by my sex life. (Now thats a statement I never thought I would post on here!)

On a serious note though, despite the many advances we have seen in equality over recent years, articles like this show that we still have a long way to go.

On a purely scientific basis I would be thinking about the floods being a freak act of nature, something to do with the chaos effect of the weather without getting too technical. Or dare I even suggest that perhaps these weather conditions are a sign of climate change and the ever increasing amounts of carbon we are emitting into the atmosphere . . . ?

Now if we're going to start bring religion into these matters, I have come to the realisation this week that if God exists then he/she is an anti capitalist. Just look at the evidence, in the same week we have seen Gatecrasher burnt to the ground and Meadowhall under water . . . ;-)
